O Projeto Pato Aqui, Água Acolá do Instituto Terra Brasilis, com patrocínio da Petrobras, lançou o calendário de 2015, que apresenta as características e requerimentos do pato-mergulhão, que são essenciais para sua sobrevivência.

Com fotos surpreendentes e encantadoras dessa espécie rara, uma das dez aves aquáticas mais ameaçadas de extinção no mundo, e de paisagens do seu habitat na Serra da Canastra, MG, um dos seus últimos refúgios no planeta, o calendário traz, a cada mês, imagens e frases de características da espécie que fazem relação com as do homem.

The Terra Brasilis Institute promotes the Exhibition ‘Save the Brazilian Merganser’

In focus, the natural wealth of the Serra da Canastra region

To present the natural wealth in the Serra da Canastra region and to build awareness of the public about the environmental responsibility to conserve the existing species in the region, especially the Brazilian Merganser, is the main goal of the Terra Brasilis Institute as it promotes the ‘Save the Brazilian Merganser’ exhibition, financed by the FNMA and sponsored by Petrobras.

With exhibition panels and recreational and interactive activities, the exhibition presents themes such as the wealth of local biodiversity, the importance of the region as a water source for Brazil, and, especially, the many aspects of the Brazilian Merganser’s life. At the end, the visitors are invited to leave a message on the Wishing Tree, leaving their opinion on what we should do to conserve the water and the Brazilian Merganser.

With amazing and enchanting photos of this rare species, and with sights of its habitat in Serra da Canastra, MG, one of its last refuges on the planet, the calendar brings, each month, images and phrases of the species’ characteristics that make the connection with those of man.
